Tribal, dark, and gothic fusion bellydancer in the Memphis, Cordova, Germantown, Bartlett, and Collierville, Tennessee area. Dance has been a part of my life since childhood, beginning with ballet and tap.
My bellydance background includes both cabaret and tribal fusion. However my love is tribal fusion with a decidedly dark twist, and I prefer dancing to gothic and industrial music. My choreography reflects that style ~ while I believe that precision and technique must play an important role in performance and instruction, I place as much importance on the emotion and the spirit of the dance. I want the audience to feel it, and I want my students to feel that emotion. To me, that is what the dance is ~ the freeing of the spirit from the bodily confines while expressed through body motions. Thus, the complexity, yet simplicity of bellydance. Does it really get any better than this? I have yet to find anything that does.
"Dancing with the feet is one thing, but dancing with the heart is another."
