Dalila was born in Italy ( Naples) where she began her studies of ballet and jazz at the age of 6. Her achievements in dancing were so fast that she began performing on professional stage at the young age of 11 for a very popular ballet and jazz school in Naples ( Alba Buonandi’s school).
By the age of 14, Dalila developped a very femenine body, maybe a little bit in contrast with the models and rules required in ballet. This became a kind of problem for Dalila because she began not to feel comfortable anymore with ballet, so she decided to focuse her attention on jazz, latin dances, modern and contemporary dance.
At the age of 17, she began her studies of Japanese language at University “Orientale” in Naples, where she graduated after 5 years.
So Dalila not only dedicated her interests to dance but also to cultivate her intellectual level by studying foreign languages and cultures like Japanese that actually she can speak very well after living one year in Japan.
Dalila also speaks other languages like English, French, Spanish and Italian And this gives her the possibility to communicate very well with many cultures.
During years of study at the University she came in contact with Arabic culture and this was her turning point to feel a familiar connection with oriental dance.
She got some videos of the most important Egyptian dancers of the past like Samia Gamal, Zoheir Zaki, Tahia Carioca, Fifi Abdu and some modern ones with the big Dina, Randa Kamel, Soraya from Brazil and Asmahan from Argentina.
Upon viewing their dance and hearing their music, Dalila realized that many movements she knew by herself were very similar to that dance.
So inspired by that material she began to study and practise by herself oriental dance ( in particular the egyptian style) without any teacher, just working on her own.
Always in search of perfection, she decided to go directly to Egypt ( Cairo) to be trained by the famous master teacher and choreographer Raqia Hassan. She is living and dancing in Cairo since one year with the support of her big master teacher and friend Madame Raqia Hassan, the one who signed and marked more than anybody else her artistic style and helped her to start the career as dancer in Cairo.Step by step and by many sacrifies and hours of hard work and training with Madame Raqia and her own orchestra, Dalila arrived to get finally the respect and approval of the egyptian public and many important hotels of Cairo like Semiramis Intercontinental, Nile Maxim Boat among many others....
At present Dalila also performs at very important weddings celebrated at military bases, contracted by notorious personalities of Cairo.
Actually this represents for every dancer a very ambitious work to be proud of, especially for foreign dancers like Dalila. It is not easy in Egypt for a foreign dancer to get admiration from egyptian public, and especially at present in Egypt it is complicated to arrive to dance at big 5* hotels and important weddings at military bases of Cairo.
When this happens to a foreign dancer in Cairo, it is because she is able to express to the public familiarity and comfort like she was really egyptian, and this must be considered a privilege and an honour for the dancer.
At this moment Dalila among other known dancers in Cairo, has the privilege and the honour to dance at these important places, where everytime egyptian people gets surprised when they learn that she is foreign and not from Egypt. From the beginning all her education and studies of oriental dance started in Cairo with this wonderful master teacher ( Raqia Hassan), who is for Dalila the one who learnt her to walk...and go through this adventure.
For this reason Dalila will never stop to say thanks to this great woman who represents for her everything, her mother, her sister, and her best friend always supporting and helping her in this fascinating, wonderful, and at the same time hard career.
